The Allegro Saxophone
Quartet was formed in the early 1980's by four folks who realized that
playing saxophone is one of the most enjoyable activities known to man!
The current members of the quartet have been playing together
since 2000, and still have a great time playing sax!
We have an extensive repertoire ranging from classical literature to contemporary works for saxophones, to jazz, ragtime, show tunes, and popular favorites, and we extend the "quartet" to a larger ensemble, with a rhythm section, as needed.
We can often be seen, and heard, in the (San Francisco) Bay area. We are particularly proud of the amount of benefit work we do - in schools, at fundraising concerts, and in public places.
